Where to go on a first date – Beacon

Small town Beacon is the perfect first date location for a #hudsonvalleyhipster.

You needn’t stray far from Main Street, and you will find a modern art museum, coffee, farm to table food, craft beer, wine bars, and plenty of windows to shop.

Let’s get started!

Meet your date for a coffee at Bank Square Coffee House 129 Main Street, Beacon, NY.

Grab your lattes and sit outside on the patio under the trees and chat. It takes time and a chill environment for those great getting to know you conversations, doesn’t it?

Art Museum.

Finish off your coffees and take a stroll down to Dia:Beacon, the nearby modern art museum at 3 Beekman Street, Beacon, NY.

It’s $15 a person for museum entry unless youve planned ahead and checked out the passes from your local library (nerd points).

The place is absolutely massive, with plently of good, bad, ugly, and super strange art.

Love it or hate it, either way its a fun talking point.

Don’t skip the museum gift store.

After working up an appetite wandering about the Dia massiveness, walk 20 minutes back up towards downtown for dinner.

Next stop, Kitchen Sink restaurant 157 Main Street, Beacon, NY where you’ve already made your dinner reservation weeks ago.

Choose between sea scallops and risotto or fried chicken sliders or go for something more exotic like indian spiced cauliflower, its all perfect.

Wine Bar.

Finish off your evening by splitting a bottle of wine at Chill Wine bar which is conveniently right across the street at 173 Main Street, Beacon, NY.

Hopefully you will find a cozy corner to enjoy some live jazz music with your vino.

These are some Beacon main street highlights we’ve loved, but of course, there are so many more great options…

Hiking Mt. Beacon, distillery tastings, antique store browsing, vintage shopping, shopping stores of hand crafted blanket and candles, childrens boutique toy shop, glass works, a walk down to the falls, ellas bellas awesome gluten free bakery hello gorgeous outdoor seating area, a drink or dinner at the fancy and posh Roundhouse restaurant and bar, burgers and tons of beer on tap at Dogwood, Beacon bite food truck which is next to the pie truck, recently voted best burger at Poppys which has a sweet backyard dining space, titos tacos with cool divey decor and killer salsa not to mention that corn on the cob, also drinking a brew at the Hop. So many choices… we probably need a second date Beacon edition post 😉
